- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add marinara sauce, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Layer:
- 3 lasagna noodles
- Half the ricotta mixture
- One-third of the meat sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella
- Repeat the layers once more.
- Finish with the remaining noodles, meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
- Letting the lasagna rest makes slicing much easier.
- You can assemble it a day ahead and refrigerate before baking.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months
