Step 1: Season the Chicken
Pat chicken dry.Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder.Lightly coat with flour.Step 2: Brown the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.Cook chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.Remove and set aside.Step 3: Cook the Onions
Reduce heat to medium.Add butter and sliced onions.Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions become soft and golden caramelized.Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.Step 4: Make the Gravy
Sprinkle flour over the onions.Stir continuously for 1 minute.Slowly whisk in chicken broth.Add Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper.Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.Step 5: Smother the Chicken
Return chicken to the skillet.Spoon gravy over the chicken.Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).Step 6: Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
