- 1 lb Ground beef 450g
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 12 oz Spaghetti Noodles 340g
- 2 Cloves garlic minced
- 1 Carrot diced
- 1 Celery stalk diced
- 1 can Crushed tomato 28 oz
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1/2 cup Beef broth
- 1 tsp Oregano dried
- 1 tsp basil dried
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes optional
- 1/2 tsp sugar to balance acidity
- Medium onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Cook the PastaBring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside. Sauté the BaseIn a large skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes, until softened. Brown the BeefAdd ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary. Build the SauceStir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and beef broth.Add oregano, basil, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Stir well. SimmerReduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and rich. Combine Toss the sauce with cooked spaghetti or serve it on top.
