Ingredients
  

For the Skillet
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Topping
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Method

  1. In a large oven-safe skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook for 8–10 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add rice, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  6. Sprinkle Swiss and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Cover for 2–3 minutes, or broil briefly until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve.
