Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened, 2 sticks
  • 1 cup Sugar granulated
  • 1/2 cup Light brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 2 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts or pecans chopped

Method

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add Wet Ingredients
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined — don’t overmix
  5. Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using). For a deeper flavor, chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes(optional but recommended)
  6. Shape and Bake
Scoop 1½ tablespoons of dough per cookie onto the prepared sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 11–13 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
  7. Cool and Enjoy
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
