Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs large
  • 1 cup Whole milk (or half-and-half for richer flavor)
  • 2 tbsp Sugar granulated
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Salt to taste
  • 8 Slices bread thickly cut
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter (for cooking)
  • (Optional Toppings)
  • Maple syrup
  • Fresh berries
  • Powered sugar
  • Whipped cream

Method

  1. Make the Batter
In a large shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and well blended.
  2. Preheat Pan
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt Β½ tablespoon of butter to coat the surface.
  3. Dip the Bread
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, soaking for about 5 seconds on each side. Let excess drip off.
  4. Cook the Toast
Place soaked bread slices onto the hot skillet. Cook until golden brown on one side (2–3 minutes), then flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until both sides are golden and crisp.
  5. Repeat
Add more butter to the pan as needed and repeat until all slices are cooked.
  6. Serve Warm
Stack on a plate, dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with syrup, and top with fresh fruit or whipped cream if desired.
